About Lehre-Austausch-Treffen
The Lehre-Austausch-Treffen is a student-organized meeting where we discuss issues or ideas concerning teaching of physics/STEM at the university level. There is typically an input presentation followed by a discussion. The L-A-Treffen is mostly addressed at physics teaching staff but anyone interested in conversations about teaching is very welcome to join!
Invitation to 7th Lehre-Austausch-Treffen:
Dear all,
the next Lehre-Austausch-Treffen will be about one of the following two topics (we will decide on one at the meeting):
a) Is science necessarily political and how should we deal with that? To what extent should moral questions be discussed in scientific education? How can we assume our social responsibility, e.g., where the climate crisis is concerned? Input slides.
b) Continuing the research on alternative teaching methods we started at the Lehre-Retreat last spring. Starting to think about how to implement those in the given course one is teaching currently / next semester. Coming up with materials. Input slides.
If you are interested in joining the 7th Lehre-Austausch-Treffen, please fill out this survey by Thursday Nov. 27 to help us find a date. I will let you know the time and place via mail.
Note: We will also be inviting the students to join this meeting in the hopes of enriching the discussion.
Also, we will shortly upload the slides from the 6th Lehre-Austausch-Treffen, where Philipp Hell told us about his experiences during his Erasmus stay at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, to our homepage.
Looking forward to seeing you at the L-A-Treffen,
Barbara Obwaller for the Students’ Association for physics
