Liebe Studierende!
Folgende Ausschreibung erreichte uns von Fr. Prof. Erath-Dulitz bezüglich einer Exkursion dieses Sommersemester:
Within the context of the VU “Atomic and Molecular Physics at Large-Scale Facilities” this summer semester, we will have a one-day excursion to the free-electron laser SwissFEL at the Paul-Scherrer Institute near Villigen, Switzerland. The excursion will take place at the end of March or in mid-April (either before or after the Easter break). The students will learn more about the working principles of free-electron lasers and they will get a better idea of the dimensions of such a facility. Since the excursion will be during the regular shutdown of the electron accelerator, we will be able to have a look into the accelerator tunnel. We will be travelling with a rented van or bus from Innsbruck. The travel costs will be covered by the university. It is required that interested students sign up for the course to facilitate the planning.
More information about the SwissFEL can be found here: https://www.psi.ch/de/media/der-schweizer-freie-elektronen-roentgenlaser-swissfel.
